As a professional cosmetologist, I know the beauty world and the price of beauty is not cheap. But when brands like AVON come into the picture and update their products to keep up with market research and demand, then you have a timeless enterprise.
Alright, AVON is not the sleek black and white bottle of CHANEL, but hear me out. When what you get from your skincare routine is actual results, you don’t care what skin it comes in. (see what I did there?)
I have used professional sized bottles of product that sell for three times what I buy them for, and the difference is clear, there is not the same result. Isn’t the skincare routine all about results?
I have a theory, the products that I get facials with are good because of how they are applied and who is applying them in what order. I am not saying that your favorite all organic brand, (mine happens to be eminence for those who need to use a line without particular ingredients) but that’s another post.
The products I am referring to are the ones that you can pay $120 USD to get applied for you, walk out with $400 in beauty cream, and go home to be disappointed. (just me?)
When I discover a product that works as I am putting it on and feels great even as I slap it on my cheeks with one hand and brush my teeth with the other, then that is worth mentioning.
You can read all about the ingredients here.
The secret I believe with this line is that it is a water-based product with a clean feeling. That does not mean less potent, water simply absorbs easy and this is essential to aging skin, as we age our skin dehydrates and loses elasticity, that is why we can get the creeping eyelid or the sagging profile.
I am not going to talk about the way this product goes to work, but I will tell you about one of my favorite ingredients and who this could be good for.
This cream has Glycolic Acid listed toward the top.
Glycolic Acid is a great universal anti-aging ingredient. According to HuffPost.com in their article What Does Glycolic Acid Do For Your Skin? Board Certified Dermatologist Melda Isaac explains that as our skin produces dead skin cells it can clog pores and trap sebum in the hair follicle and, “Those same dead skin cells that can stick together and clog pores, leading to acne, can also make our skin look less vibrant.”
The gentle nature of the Glycolic Acid in the Anew Platinum Night Cream makes for a lovely gentle exfoliant to go to sleep in, without the need to wear as SPF as at night you will not be in the sun, this is the perfect time to support skin cellular turnover, as this is a natural cycle that is already happening organically.
I tried the Anew Platinum Night Cream and was hooked. The cream retails for 1.7 oz net wt and at the value of the auto replenish for all 3 products, (night, day with SPF and eye a $126 value for $55) this is a steal.
Who this product is best suited for is anyone who has some oil production in their skin, and does not suffer from rosacea )I’ll cover you gals in a later post.
I hope you found this article interesting and helpful for your endeavors in healthy skin!
